TFN International goes to Moscow
TFN International Director, Eugenie Harvey, spent some time in Moscow last week:
'It was a great pleasure to travel to Moscow last week to run a day long workshop for around 40 representatives of Russian civil society organisations (community foundations and donor development organisations primarily) on TFN’s live crowdfunding model.
The workshop, which comprises a session explaining how TFN works followed by a second session in which we role play a TFN event (with workshop participants each drawing a role out of a hat – pity the three people who have to prepare a six minute presentation over the lunch break!), was greatly enhanced by Beata Hirt, who joined us from Banska Bystrica in Slovakia to share her experience of TFN’s model. Beata and her colleagues at the Healthy City Foundation are in the process of organising their second live giving circle event to be held on November 24.
The workshop was organised by the Russian Donors’ Forum and the Russian Association of Fundraisers and was held in a wonderful new building called Blagosphera, which aptly translates as “place for doing good things”. I couldn’t help pointing out that it would be an ideal venue for the first TFN event in Moscow. Watch this space for further news of TFN in Russia!'
