At the end of January, our friends at Roots and Wings Foundation in Budapest held a live crowdfunding event in support of free elections, funding four charities which work to ensure transparent, fair elections in Hungary. You can read more about the organisations here.

The event raised more than €30,000 - an incredible result! 78 guests from all over Europe came together to achieve this – including many from Poland, where they will have elections in 2023 and for whom the results of the Hungarian elections are particularly important.

The charities that took part in the event had never participated in this kind of event before, but have said that it gave them hope to feel so supported in their work – they were particularly grateful to the many supporters from outside of Hungary.
