A successful start to 2016 for TFN
January saw TFN start 2016 with an exciting week of events for our core London and Young Funding Networks.
We started by helping LSE celebrate their RAG week by hosting a Young Funding Network (YFN) live crowdfunding event on 26th January. We enjoyed music from LSE’s jazz band and heard from Macquarie Group, who support YFN events, as well as Lensational, who had pitched the year before. The projects that pitched, ChipMonk, People Matching Places and Nusa Social Enterprise, were all inspiring projects led by students from various London universities. The kindness of our audience meant that we were able to exceed our target of raising £1,000 for each project. Go to YFN’s Facebook page to see the photos from the night.
The live crowdfunding excitement continued on 28th January at Goodman Derrick when we held our first core TFN London event of the year. Four fantastic charities pitched to our generous audience who were able to raise an incredible £35,000 for North London Cares,Nyaka AIDS Orphan Project, CleanConscience and JAGS Foundation! Our guests also enjoyed an exhibition of photos from Lensational and a report back from previously funded project, Pardada Pardadi Educational Society.
Thank you to everybody who came and made sure January was such a success for TFN! If you’d like to see what our live crowdfunding events are like, take a look at our YouTubechannel and come to one of our events!
