Reasons to be Cheerful - TFN 2018
It’s been a big year for TFN and the non-profits that have pitched at TFN events, and we thank you for sharing it with us.
Throughout the year, we celebrated and shared happy times at fun live crowdfunding events with old friends Goodman Derrick, Octopus Giving, Rathbone Greenbank Investments, and Year Here. We were also excited to meet new friends, coming together with T. Rowe Price, PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club, Camden Giving, EY Foundation, Macquarie and NESTA to create fun events supporting non-profits driving social change.
Throughout the year, we were so proud to see that many of the non-profits featured at TFN events have been recognized for special awards, including: CrackedIt, who won Social Enterprise of the Year and was a finalist for the Youth Justice Award; Hubbub, The Bike Project and The Girls' Network who were nominated in for the National Lottery Awards; London Reclaimed, who won the Enterprise of the Year award at the London Tree and Wood Awards; and the founders of Fat Macy's, Routes, Incredible Brilliant Youth, Juta Shoes, Migrateful, and Birdsong, who were highlighted on the WISE100 list recognising inspiring & influential women – just to name a few. As always, we were heartened to see TFN members visit and volunteer for non-profits that moved them.
We were also delighted to see that in addition to awards and nominations, the impactful work of non-profits was also highlighted across media, from the impact CrackedIt is having to reduce knife crime across London, and the work of Luminary Bakery in supporting women - both featured in the Evening Standard, with Hubbub's Community Fridge project being featured in The Guardian, to the sustainable and ethical fashion of BirdSong featured in Refinery29 - and much more.
We are so proud to have been able to support 58 non-profits in 2018 - watch the inspirational pitches and see the photos from the year.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped contribute and share this year with us.
