Over £43,000 Raised for Non-Profits at TFN Festive Funding
We were delighted to celebrate the festive season with old and new friends at Macquarie Group earlier this week. After a fun music performance by Drumworks, the crowd heard about the impactful work done by Book Clubs in Schools since their pitch in December last year.
To open the pitches, Sara from Refugees at Home gave a dynamic pitch showcasing their work facilitating accommodation for refugees and asylum seekers with hosts in the UK who provide temporary homes, raising over £10,300 to help continue their work providing safety, security and a happy home.
Anita from Teach2Teach International gave a passionate pitch on the lack of work and education opportunities in Northern Ghana and what they are doing to help, raising over £12,000 to continue their important work providing work opportunities in teaching to empower children in challenged schools.
We heard an inspiring pitch from Ann from Downright Excellent on the opportunity that can be gained from fully including people with Down syndrome into employment positions, raising over £7,800 towards their work supporting children with Down syndrome through teaching important life skills to gain independence and employment later in life.
Lastly, Alice from Luminary Bakery gave an eye-opening pitch on their work empowering women in need to reach their potential through providing training and employment in baking, raising over £12,700 towards supporting more women to go through the programme.
In total, over £43,000 was raised for these four inspiring charities driving social change.
A big thank you to our host Macquarie Group, our corporate supporter Octopus Giving, and to all who gave generosity on the night.
