Hello, My name is Hodan and I’m the new Communications and Membership Coordinator at TFN. I’m really excited to start this new role and I’m sure it will be a very rewarding experience for me. This is my first time working in the charity sector. I am someone who holds a lot of empathy within, which I believe is vital in this sector. It is so incredibly moving to see how many different charities TFN has worked with over the years and just how much some organisations have grown.

Previously I worked as a kitchen designer. I thoroughly enjoyed this role as it allowed me to be imaginative, creative and extremely design-focused. It was a great few years but I felt I wasn’t contributing to society in a meaningful way, so I went on a rigorous search to change that and to make better use of my Business and Marketing degree. When I came across this role it was an opportunity I knew I had to pursue and I hope to do my team and TFN proud. I also want to gain a greater awareness of these amazing charities that devote their time to bring about positive social change.

When I’m not working I try to make it a priority to visit a few different countries every year.  I used to believe there was only one way of life, but after seeing many different cultures and norms it has shown me that my world isn’t the same as everyone else’s. This has allowed me to see issues and daily life challenges from another perspective.

I aim to form great relationships with the wonderful TFN members who have been very welcoming so far. I am so grateful to be amongst such a generous and very knowledgeable group of people.
