City for LGBT+: special guests and lucky winners
We came together with GiveOut and Consortium on 14th October to celebrate and support four fantastic organisations advancing the rights and well-being of LGBT+ individuals all over the world. From UHAI EASHRI in East Africa to L'Union Feministe Libre in Morocco to BlackOut and Opening Doors London here in the UK, we heard their inspiring stories and our generous audience raised over £23,000 towards their work.
Two very special guests - Lord Michael Cashman CBE and Baroness Elizabeth Barker - kicked things off with a moving conversation on reluctant activism, EastEnders, empathy, and why you shouldn't buy Michael's book*.
Michael and Liz generously donated a couple of prizes for two lucky guests: a signed proof copy of Michael's book, One of Them: From Albert Square to Parliament Square, and a bottle of House of Lords Gin. Thank you Michael and Liz for your generous gifts and inspiring words!
We're so grateful to all who came and offered their support - thank you, and see you next time.
*We have it on good authority that it'll make you miss your stop on the Tube.
