City for LGBT+ 2021
About This Event
The Funding Network is delighted to join forces with Give Out and Consortium, as well as our corporate partners Macquarie, for a third year to host City for LGBT+.
This virtual live crowdfunder brings together our community and corporate allies to support Consortium and two of GiveOut’s grant partners advancing LGBT+ rights worldwide.
This year we want to show our community’s support for LGBT+ refugees.
Join us on Wednesday 13th October at 6pm for an exciting evening where you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of LGBT+ individuals and communities in the UK and around the world. Please register for the event by clicking the button below.
At our events, charities pitch for 6 minutes before taking questions from the audience.
People Against Suffering, Oppression and Poverty (PASSOP) are a community-based, non-profit human rights organisation devoted to protecting and advancing the rights of LGBTQI asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants in South Africa. They advocate on behalf of LGBTQI refugees and confront homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia throughout South Africa, providing legal, social, financial, psychosocial and housing support.
Rainbow Migration supports LGBTQI people through the asylum and immigration system. They offer practical and emotional support for LGBTQI people seeking asylum to help improve their confidence and self-esteem and reduce isolation. Rainbow MIgration also provide specialist legal information and advice, and campaign to improve the treatment of people seeking asylum.
Consortium is a national specialist infrastructure and membership organisation. They work to strengthen and support LGBT+ groups, organisations and projects to deliver direct services and campaign for individual rights. Consortium is seeking funding towards its LGBT Futures Fund, which supports chronically underfunded grassroots causes. We want to ensure that all LGBT+ communities, and particularly LGBT+ refugees, have access to the specialist support and strong communities they need to lead long, happy and supported lives, throughout the UK.
