Our members will be proactive in bringing forward organisations to fund in the following areas:
Human Rights
Environmental Sustainability
Health
Education
Conflict Prevention & Resolution
Through these categories we hope to address both traditional and emerging issues, some of which are largely neglected by existing grant-giving charities, but which promise to have great impact on society. We are particularly keen to support small-scale projects that are difficult to fund. Unlike many funding bodies, we will also contribute toward core and administrative costs. Members can expect to be stimulated and challenged by their contact with a wide range of issues and the social entrepreneurs tackling them.
The Funding Network does not accept unsolicited grant applications;
all the organisations and projects are presented for support by our
members. However one of our existing members might be prepared to
sponsor your project to a Funding Event. We circulate our members
regularly with a brief description of projects that have come to us
unsolicited; if you would like to be part of this summary we will
need a one paragraph summary (300 words max) of your project, preferably
with a brief indication of how you might use a grant of £5000 (our
average grant), and an email and phone contact for the person concerned
. We understand, of course, that what you would plan to do might change
by the time one of our members could sponsor you, but it would help
a member decide whether to put you forward. We would also need to
know which of our five categories (above) of social change your project
fits. If a member would like to sponsor your project for a Funding
Event he or she will contact you directly. Please add your contact
details after the summary paragraph so they can get in touch.
