Our Participants & Network

The Funding Network is a loose affiliation of individuals, from a variety of backgrounds, but with a common purpose, to join with others in using our material prosperity to fund social change causes.

Everyone is welcome to attend a TFN funding event. At every event, about one third of the audience will be attending for the first time. We have an exceptionally diverse range or attendees to our events, many of modest means, and the pledges made at events are very diverse as well, ranging so far from £100 to an individual project (our most common pledge) to £10,000. Normally, we have about 100 people attend each event. Those registered to attend an event will receive written information on presenting organisations before the funding day so they can do some initial reflection, and donations can be made either privately or publicly during the pledging session.

Those who attend talk about the privilege of actually meeting inspiring, dedicated people working for social change, about the warmth and friendliness of the atmosphere, about their amazement at what relatively small amounts of money can help achieve – and about their pleasure in helping to contribute that money.

Our members are the heart of The Funding Network. Some of our members join to be exposed to cutting edge projects and charities, while others join to promote specific causes. Members may be individuals giving their own personal funds or trustees of charitable trusts who have the discretionary power to make commitments at a funding event.

The a years membership fee is £85 for individuals,  £120 for families and couples and £250 for organisations and companies until April 1st 2012.
