Last month we announced that we would be re-branding ‘TFN Tuesdays’ as ‘TFN Treats’ and on 16th November we held our first TFN Treat event. 

TFN Treats are one of the many perks of being a TFN member, allowing members to further engage with projects we’ve supported at special events. For the first TFN Treat, we screened Notes on Blindness and invited the film’s Producer, Mike Brett, to join us for a Q&A afterwards. 

In July 2016, we held a film event supporting the outreach work around films aiming to create social change. Notes on Blindness have received incredible reviews since its release, so we were really pleased to be able to screen it for our members in the week it has its premier in New York. 

Kindly hosted by DTV at BFI Stephen Street, our members were able to chat to each other over wine and snacks before watching the film in one of BFI’s beautiful screening rooms. Mike was then able to tell us about what it was like to make the film, which uses a number of different methods to make the film accessible to people across the spectrum of sight loss conditions. 

TFN members said they had an excellent time watching such a remarkable film and getting to speak to Mike in the Q&A to find out more about John, whose life the film follows.
