TFN Australia wins Philanthropy Award
Earlier this month our colleagues at TFN Australia were honoured for their work at the Philanthropy Australia Awards. They came away with the award for "Best Small Grant" in recognition of their work with Manjeri, a youth-led social enterprise working in Uganda.
Manjeri was supported by TFN Australia back in 2014, when they raised almost $18,000 (AUD) at an event in Sydney. This money went to fund the set-up of a taxi-bus social enterprise, which would in turn finance the running of a local primary school, making it self-sustaining. Following the event, Manjeri received over $100,000 in on-going funding which has helped the social enterprise to grow even further. You can read more about the collaboration here.
Speaking to Fundraising and Philanthropy magazine, Manjeri's Founding Director said: TFN’s holistic approach to supporting grassroots nonprofits, like us, is so powerful. Not only is the funding important, but the ripple effect from the opportunity to pitch at TFN has been significantly greater. We’ve been able to share our story, reach new audiences and develop long-term relationships with people who are passionate about supporting our work. This has fast-tracked our ability to scale and grow.” You can read the full article in Fundraising and Philanthropy here.
Congratulations Manjeri and TFN Australia!
