Projects announced for TFN May event
It's less than a month to go until our next live crowdfunding event, this time held at the fabulous Two Temple Place.
Once again, our members have done a great job in selecting four inspiring projects to pitch for support:
Tea Leaf Trust, running a personal and professional development programme for young people working in Sri Lankan tea plantations. The programme helps young people to develop the skills needed to access employment away from estate labour, and to become change agents in their communities for future generations.
Independent Workers Union of Great Britain supports the UK's low-paid, vulnerable workers who are often neglected by large unions. They work with under-represented workers to provide employment-related legal services.
Viswa Bharati Vidyodaya Trust works in south India, running a primary school based on culturally appropriate learning systems. This allows them to provide an education to the indigenous tribal youth in the Nilgiri Hills.
You Make It is a holistic, self-empowerment programme for young, marginalised people from Hackney and Tower Hamlets. You make it connects women who are unemployed or underemployed with new people, places, ideas and experiences to help them lead happy and financially independent lives.
We're looking forward to hearing their pitches and hope you'll come along and meet them too! Tickets are available now.
