Celebrate Lensational's London film premiere
Last July, previous Young Funding Network project Lensational pitched at our film-themed event at Channel 4 studios. We're so pleased that with our funding, Lensational has produced a short documentary, Daughters of Bangladesh Garment Factory Workers. The documentary has its London premiere on 8th August at The Frontline Club and you can book tickets here.
Women account for 80% of the garment workforce in Bangladesh. They are paid a minimum wage of £2.40 per day to produce clothes for Western brands. The documentary presents the stories of five girls. The girls wrote, directed and shot a film based on their own life experiences and focusing on their relationships with their mother. Meet Farzana, Nasrin, Tania, Hafiza and Runa as they show you the world through their eyes. The trailer is available here.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A exploring how to get the unheard voices of overlooked women in journalism into the public eye.
Hope to see you there!
