FUNDING EVENTS
Our events range from Funding Days and Evenings, with over 100 attendees at venues such as The Lincoln Centre, Coutts and Goldman Sachs. To satellite events for our Groups, such as YTFN, at The Hub, Islington and OFN at The North Wall Arts Centre, in Oxford.
Each event includes the project presentations, questions, time
to continue discussions with the presenting organisations over refreshments
(lunch in the case of a Funding Day), and an informal pledging session. Each
person is entirely free to offer support to all, some, or none of the projects
presented on a given day. Even if you don’t give at an event, you are bound to learn a great deal about what is happening on the frontline of a number of issues.
“I come because TFN is gripping - like good theatre. I’m on the edge of my seat when the bidding begins. Moved sometimes to tears by what people are brave enough to undertake. Furious at the facts revealed. Delighted by people's spontaneous generosity.” Dr Scilla Elworthy, TFN Member
"This is a wonderful idea, and the event is a great experience for the charities involved. We were given much more money than we expected. The atmosphere of friendly competition is good for us, because all of the third sector is slowly having to become more businesslike, and the chance to talk to potential supporters is very welcome. " Richard Stilgoe, Songwriter, Lyricist and Founder of The Orpheus Centre
"It was a pleasure to be able to present our charity (Treehouse) to such an attentive audience and rest assured, the funds that you have donated will be very, very much appreciated." Nick Hornby, Novelist and Essayist
"On behalf of myself and the Environmental Justice Foundation I would like to thank Coutts for hosting The Funding Network event and especially all the people who generously donated to the SAVE THE SEA campaign. Duncan Copeland (EJF Campaigner) is thrilled with the donation and says "EJF can do a lot with this money." Katharine Hamnett, Fashion Designer

5 a year in central London.
Satellite events hosted by our groups nationally and internationally.
Attended by about 80-100 people
Raise an average total of £50,000 for the projects presenting.
By inviting people to make funding decisions during the day we hope to preserve
the excitement which comes from knowing what we have raised by the end of the
day. The Funding Network administers individual donations towards projects presented,
reclaiming Gift Aid where appropriate on behalf of members, and sending out
updates on the results of grants made to projects.
