Spring Funding Event – TFN London

About the Event

TFN London will be holding its second event of 2012 on Saturday 17th March. This is  10 years to the day that TFN was first launched and we intend to mark the occasion with a few special touches.

Maynard Leigh have kindly offered to host the event at their offices, a short walk from Old Street Station.

The five projects selected to pitch at this event are:

The Book Bus - Aims to improve child literacy in Malawi, Zambia and Ecuador by providing them with books and giving them the inspiration read them.

Children on the Forest - Is looking to become self-sufficient in rice and other food production to increase the long-term sustainability of its Thai centre serving children escaping repression in Burma.

Working Chance -Transforms the lives of women offenders by placing them in quality jobs allowing them to become financially independent and cross the divide from exclusion to inclusion.

Bold Vision – Aims to develop grassroots citizens’ empowerment projects in the New Cross Gate area to tackle isolation and hopelessness with creativity and participation.

Mivule - In partnership with the Barefoot College, India, it aims to train illiterate women from Rural Uganda to become solar engineers and maintain the equipment. This will in turn bring solar power into the communities and create a women’s empowerment centre in the area.
