About the Event

We are pleased to announce details of the next event of TFN London.

On the evening we will hear from five inspiring projects hoping to convince you of their ability to turn your cash into social change, see details below. We will also be joined by David Babbs, from online campaigning project 38 Degrees, who have achieved phenomenal things over the past year, since receiving TFN funding at our Social Entrepreneurs Event last May.

The Nyaka AIDS Orphan Project (NAOP) supports the grandparents of orphaned children in Rural Uganda. This project aims to transform this community by the expansion of The Medical Clinic, which has educational as well as health components.

Debate Mate uses debating to develop core skills, including communication, teamwork and leadership. These skills are crucial to addressing disadvantage and increasing social mobility. They have established and run after-school debate clubs in two inner city secondary schools.

Camden Shed is based on the hugely successful Men’s Shed movement in Australia and New Zealand, where over 500 sheds offer greater purpose, friendship and sense of self-worth to older men who feel redundant and socially excluded.

10:10 Solar Schools Project is a pilot aiming to get 300,000 ordinary people investing in clean energy for their local schools around the UK. This visible and high impact project hopes to bring solar power into the public consciousness.

Results UK Opportunities for All project aims to end disability discrimination in education. Strong advocacy is required so that the UK Government leads globally on ensuring these children are not doomed to a life of poverty from being denied an education.
