The TFN Devon Steering Group have just selected the final four projects for their next event in early February '12. It was a tough selection process with many good projects in the mix. The four most exciting projects come from across Devon with one working internationally. They represent a range of social change issues. More details on our event soon! PY

Great post - very stimulating.
Quite liked what i herad yesterday that a group collected masses of the royal rubbish from the Mall (knee-deep apparently) and boxed the best bits up for charity sale on E-Bay to raise money for Centre Point.

Great stuff! Looks like we're really on the same team. Social norming around giving is crucial - for which actually talking about is indispensible. We need to make it much more 'talkable' and more normal. There's another article about this here: http://bit.ly/mRdcrp

I publish a blog and there I spread about the gift of charity and some sites of relevant institutes charity. People think that donation is just give money, but that's not all. Donate is often just spread the idea, help with a job, a visit to a children's home, for example. The charity is still not seen as a life habit for most people.

How fabulous to come across this post!

It occurred to me just recently how rare it is to talk about giving to charity, and how hard it is to find real, meaningful discussions about why people give and how much they give. Makes it so hard to have meaningful conversation about how much we should give, how to give more, or to figure out if we give enough, too much etc etc

So I started a blog series 'Conversations on Giving' to start the discussion ...

As an Afghan I really appreciate the efforts of TFN and all other donors that helped Marefat High School. Although I have never personally seen the Marefat Activities but I have heard a lot of good stories about it. I see a very good future for the students of Marefat for rebuilding my country. This is the first school I ever heard of in Afghanistan for having good subjects and the real hard work of its members and teachers.

Please do more help to Marefat and its students to pave the way for a good future they are hoping for. I know there are millions of Dollars pouring in this country and gets wasted for nothing, why not help such an institution that can help to train the future builders of our country.

Thanks so much
